Everything you ever wanted to know about HotFlation...but were afraid to ask.

Q. Why HotFlation?

A. Pull up a chair, wise Internet user. You see, your humble HotFlation founders have lived all over this great country. Being the single, sociable young gentlemen that we are, we've had the good fortune of meeting plenty of girls in each place where we've lived. Today, we both live in Los Angeles. Soon after we moved here, we realized that girls who were considered 'hot' (let's say an '8' or above) in the places we had lived before (Michigan, Massachusetts, Northern California, etc.), would only be average at best if they moved to LA, where your typical yoga class looks like a beauty pageant of flexible babes. Of course, there are plenty of other places besides LA where the average guy or girl is considerably hotter than even the best looking people in other cities. We came up with a name for this phenomenon - HotFlation - to describe how girls (and of course, guys) actually benefit from living in areas with less attractive people because it boosts their own relative attractiveness. Of course, just stating a random theory doesn't make it true, which is why we decided to put some numbers behind our theory and figure out exactly where our users are considered hot. Q. Not so fast. So how does it work?

A. Very simple, dearest user. Just vote on the photos you see on our site on a 'hotness' scale of 1-10. But that's not all! To experience the full benefits of HotFlation, register now to submit your own photo and provide us with as much information about yourself as you'd like - then let our users vote on how hot YOU are! Based on those votes, our algorithm will not only compute your photo's average 'hotness' score on the traditional 1-10 scale, but also provide regional breakdowns that show your score per region (so you could be a 8.5 in the Midwest, but only a 6 in Southern California, for example). Upload your photo now and get started!

Q. How many regions are there?

A. 12 - Northern California, Southern California, Northwest, Central States, Mountain States, Midwest, Southwest, Deep South, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, Other (includes Hawaii, Alaska and International countries). Each time someone votes on your photo, we match the IP address of the computer that person voted on with one of the corresponding regions, which allows us to determine your HotFlation score in each region where people are voting.

Q. What's the Heatmap all about?

A. Of course, a number alone only says so much about you. That's why we created a continuously updating Heatmap for each and every photo that is submitted to us, just so you can see exactly where you are considered 'hot'! Remember, red means 'hot' and blue means 'cold,' so the redder the Heatmap, the hotter the pic! Submit your photo to us now and find out where YOU are considered hot!

Q. Can I upload photos of other people?

A. Absolutely! While our main objective here at HotFlation is to help our users find out exactly where they are considered hot, we have no problem with you uploading photos of others and then having our users rate them. When you submit your photo to us, you'll see that you have plenty of options to submit other photos to us. In fact, you can submit as many or as few photos of yourself as you'd like - it's all in your hands! So come on, register now and join the HotFlation Nation!!

Q. Hmmm. My HotFlation score is only a 5.5 in Southern California, but I was head cheerleader and homecoming queen in high school, and people here in Wisconsin always say that I should move to LA to become an actress. What gives?

A. My dear, it sounds like you are experiencing a classic case of HotFlation back in the home of cheese & sausage. Did you ever consider the fact that maybe your female competition in Wisconsin isn't exactly, ummm, up to snuff? Our suggestion - don't hop a bus to Hollywood anytime soon. Why compete with the uber-hotties in LA-LA Land when Packer Nation so obviously needs you right where you are?!!

Q. I know someone put my pic on here somewhere. How do I find it?

A. The best way is to use our incredible Search engine. Just type in a few keywords that you think might apply to your profile (body type, eyes, hair color, etc.) and see if your pic pops up in the search results. Or, if you think you know what profile name someone may have given to your pic, try that instead. Of course, you can use our Search engine to search just about anything, so register now and give it a shot! Remember - the more info you give us about each pic you upload, the better our Search engine works for everyone!

Q. Why do you guys think that looks are everything?

A. We never said that looks are everything. All we claim is that 'hotness' is a relative concept that varies across geographic regions - whether a person is considered 'hot' is often nothing more than a function of where they are living at the time. It's that simple. And to deny that looks matter at all?? OK, fine - call me when they make a 'Transformers' movie where the supposedly nerdy female leads DON'T look like they just walked off a Maxim photo shoot.

Q. Some jerkoff put my picture up without my permission. Please have it removed.

A. Absolutely. Either contact us at info@HotFlation.com and request that your pic be removed, or click the 'Report Photo' link underneath your photo. We respect and immediately comply with all take-down requests. Just let us know!

Q. More Questions??
